Community Projects

Community Projects

Community Projects include all kinds of collaborative initiatives that address local needs.  Local people have told us they think we should focus on better local facilities, play spaces, spaces for nature, safety and opportunities for more socialising and speaking/learning Welsh.

Community Consultation Events

Throughout 2023 and 2024 and leading up the establishment of 4 Llan, local people came together to discuss the housing crisis in rural Ceredigion and this led to conversations about a range of other things including pride in the way people in our community support one another, the out-migration of young people, the decline of the Welsh language, the rising cost of living and fuel poverty.  A small community survey echoed these thoughts.  The consultation events helped 4 Llan to prioritise the 4 elements of our vision for a thriving and sustainable rural community:

  • Housing that’s right for our community
  • Community Energy Projects – generating energy with and for local people
  • Land-based projects which provide facilities for people and vital space for nature
  • Community Projects which bring people together to build strong, connected, safe and vibrant communities

Electrical Safety Events

We care about community safety.

With support from the Electrical Safety Fund, local contractors and volunteers, we have been organising Electrical Safety Events throughout the 4 Llan area.

During the events, local residents bring up to 4 electrical items per household to be tested by a qualified electrician.

At our events in Caerwedros and Pontgarreg in early 2025, we were able to offer vouchers towards the cost of buying replacements for any items that failed the test.

If you would like to hold an event in your hall, please contact us.
