Powering young minds for a sustainable future!

Ynni Da is working with schools in the 4 Llan area to engage younger members of the community with 4 Llan and our objectives, raising awareness of electrical safety and renewable energy, while providing science learning outcomes.

Aled from Ynni Da has already held practical workshops, which brought electricity to life, at Ysgol Llanarth. The pupils examined how electricity is produced, used – and wasted – and revealed the real effect that energy has on our climate. From pedaling an energy bike to see how difficult it is to produce power, to researching household appliances, emergency waste and electrical safety, the learners became energy detectives. The session ended outdoors as pupils built, tested and measured renewable energy solutions using solar photovoltaic and wind power on their own school site.

Ynni Da will visit Ysgol T Llew Jones, Ysgol Talgarreg and Ysgol Bro Sion Quilt over the next few weeks….
